Ubud Guide
From Riviera Boutique Hotel on Jalan Raya Pengosekan, the Agung Rai Museum of Art is about 230 metres away and the Monkey Forest about 620 metres, both in a straight line. Ubud Palace, the Art Market, Pura Taman Saraswati and Puri Lukisan lie 1.7 to 1.9 kilometres to the north, so allow more time on foot.

ARMA is on Jalan Raya Pengosekan, the same road as Riviera, to the east-south-east of the hotel. The museum was founded by Agung Rai and opened in 1996. Our guide to Ubud's museums and galleries covers what it holds.
The sanctuary, also called Mandala Suci Wenara Wana, is in the village of Padangtegal, to the north-west of the hotel. It holds three temples and is run by Mandala Suci Wenara Wana Management. Museum Rudana is an art museum in Peliatan, to the south-east of Riviera. Nyoman Rudana built it around the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, which holds that art contributes to public wellbeing.
Ubud Palace, officially Puri Saren Agung, is a historic building complex in the middle of town, to the north of Riviera on Jalan Raya Ubud, the main road through Ubud.

Pura Taman Saraswati, also called the Ubud Water Palace, is a Balinese Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Sarasvati and known for its lotus pond.
Puri Lukisan is an art museum for traditional and modern Balinese painting and wood carving, with works from the 1930s onwards.
The Neka Art Museum on Jalan Raya Sanggingan is about 3.5 kilometres from Riviera in a straight line, to the north-north-west. That is about twice the distance to the palace.
Riviera's spa, lounge and Kumo, the omakase restaurant in Ubud, are on the same grounds, so a massage or dinner needs no walk at all.

A beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Ubud with stylish interiors and great attention to detail. I stayed in a Garden View room, which was very comfortable, spotless and peaceful. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive and helpful. I originally booked two nights but loved it so much that I extended my stay by another three. I would definitely return!
A Beautiful modern hotel in the heart of Ubud, very centrally and conveniently located and close to the best shops and restaurants. The hotel has a very beautiful colonial atmosphere, the rooms are clean, modern and stylish. The staff is kind and responsive. It's a great place for a couple or single travellers, it's not really fit for families as it has no infrastructure and special spaces for kids. It's a great place for adult travellers wanting to stay in the very heart of Ubud and enjoy the walking distance to the evening events in Ubud or just visiting the town without the need to use a car or a bike. We will be back!
