Do you know that feeling when Christmas is coming and your mum has been in the kitchen all day cooking something special for you? That’s honestly how we felt at Kumo. You can feel how much love goes into the food. Every dish feels personal, thoughtful and made with so much care. The whole evening felt very intimate and special. A truly wonderful evening at Kumo Fusion Omakase! Two guests staying at Riviera booked Kumo for their 20th wedding anniversary, with dinner just down the hall from their room. They sat at the counter and watched each course come together over fire and smoke, and the kitchen closed the evening with a Happy Anniversary dessert.

What kind of restaurant in Ubud is Kumo?
Kumo Fusion Omakase runs two menus out of one room. Four seats at the counter take the omakase, where the chef sets the sequence and nobody orders. The rest of the room is laid for the steak house menu.
Kumo has 30 seats and serves up to 60 guests an evening across two sittings, inside Riviera Boutique Hotel on Jl Raya Pengosekan. Riviera has 28 rooms.
Both Kumo menus set out the format of the meal in advance. For the omakase, choose a sequence length; for the Steak House menu, choose a main and its accompaniments.
The omakase is sold as four sequences of different lengths. First Encounter runs four moments, The Journey six, The Chef's Selection eight, and The Kumo Experience ten. All four are served at the same four-seat counter.
Steak House
What a steak house dinner in Bali includes at Kumo
The steak house menu is priced by the protein and the rest of the course comes with it: a seasonal appetizer, the soup of the day, seasonal vegetables, one carb and one signature sauce.
Nine mains are listed. From the sea there is a 300gr salmon steak cut from the middle and 300gr of butter shrimp. The lamb shank is the heaviest plate on the menu at 550gr.
The beef is listed by origin and by marbling. An AUS Sirloin MB3 croquette with cheese and an IDN grass-fed fillet mignon sit at the lighter end, a USA premium top blade in the middle, and Australian wagyu above them at MB5 striploin, MB7 tenderloin and MB9 full blood tenderloin. Every beef plate is 250gr.
The carb is your choice of white rice, mashed potato, french fries, baked potato or sourdough bread. The sauce is one of chimichurri, demi-glace, mushroom, cowboy butter, peri peri or béarnaise. Appetizer, soup and vegetables are the kitchen's call on the day.

What drinks does Kumo serve?
Kumo serves coffee and tea, soft drinks, beer and cocktails. The menu also lists mocktails and kombucha.
Coffee is espresso, americano, long black, flat white, cappuccino, macchiato, latte and moccacino, most of them hot or iced. Hot tea covers peppermint, green tea, earl grey, jasmine, english breakfast and chamomile, and iced tea comes classic, lychee, lemon or jasmine. Water is still or sparkling, and the beer is a Guinness, one of three Bali Hai beers or a small Bintang.
Ten signature cocktails are listed, among them a KUMO G&T and a Smoked Peach Riviera, next to seven classics with the negroni and the old fashioned among them. For anyone at the table who is not drinking there are six mocktails and five kombucha flavours.
Menu prices are exclusive of 10% government tax and 11% service charge, so the printed figure is not the figure on the bill.
