What Garden View Room 2 looks out on
Garden View Room 2 takes the same garden outlook through a pair of tall arched doors set side by side in black frames. Both open to a private balcony with a white balustrade, a planted box along the rail, a table and chairs, and a palm canopy directly beyond.
The bed stands against a dark walnut wall lit by slim brass sconces and twin pendants, with pale upholstered panels on either side of the headboard. A carved timber lattice screen closes off the bathroom, which is finished in warm stone with a backlit mirror, a rounded basin and a walk-in glass rain shower. A walnut wardrobe and an armchair complete the room.
Garden View Room 2 opens onto the same palms as Room 1, but through a pair of tall arched doors set side by side, so the whole front of the room gives onto the balcony rather than a single opening. The planted box along the balustrade puts greenery right at the rail, and the palm canopy stands directly beyond. It is the most open of the balcony rooms toward the garden, and it suits guests who want the outdoors to be part of the room rather than a view through one door.

A beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Ubud with stylish interiors and great attention to detail. I stayed in a Garden View room, which was very comfortable, spotless and peaceful. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive and helpful. I originally booked two nights but loved it so much that I extended my stay by another three. I would definitely return!
A Beautiful modern hotel in the heart of Ubud, very centrally and conveniently located and close to the best shops and restaurants. The hotel has a very beautiful colonial atmosphere, the rooms are clean, modern and stylish. The staff is kind and responsive. It's a great place for a couple or single travellers, it's not really fit for families as it has no infrastructure and special spaces for kids. It's a great place for adult travellers wanting to stay in the very heart of Ubud and enjoy the walking distance to the evening events in Ubud or just visiting the town without the need to use a car or a bike. We will be back!

How are the bed and bathroom set up in Garden View Room 2?
Room features are a king bed at 180 × 200 cm, a private balcony, air conditioning, an in-room safe and daily housekeeping. The room is 23 m² for two guests.
The room includes complimentary Wi-Fi, a tea and coffee station, a hair dryer and a minibar available at an additional charge. Unlimited filtered water is available throughout the stay from the refill station, and fresh drinking water is provided in the room each day. The bathroom has a rain shower with natural shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap.
With the lattice screen standing in for a solid bathroom door, the room reads as one connected space rather than a bedroom with a bathroom off it, while the twin pendants and sconces keep the light even across the headboard. Storage is the open-shelved walnut wardrobe, and the armchair sits where the balcony doors let the light in. As in every Riviera room, a ceiling fan runs above the bed with the air conditioning.
Garden View Room 2 is one of 28 rooms at Riviera, and the spa, the lounge and Kumo Fusion Omakase all sit in the same building as the rooms. The lounge runs as a cafe for coffee and pastries by day and pours wine in the evening, the spa books Balinese and deep-tissue massage, aromatherapy, foot care and hair treatments, and Kumo seats thirty guests a night, four at the omakase counter and the rest at the steak-house tables. A garden room with the doors open and dinner downstairs is close to the whole point of the place.
The address is Jl Raya Pengosekan, in the Pengosekan part of Ubud, a part of town with a long history of painters and the galleries that came with them. Ubud's main street runs up from Riviera, with the town's cafes, shops and markets a short walk away and the palace and temples in the streets beyond. From a room that opens wide onto the garden, the town is there when you want it and out of sight when you do not.
Riviera runs to six room types across 28 rooms. Garden View 1 and 2 both face the palms with a balcony, and Room 2 is the one photographed with a pair of arched doors onto the balcony.

Garden View Room 2 is the most open room toward the garden, because both arched doors give onto the balcony and the planted box brings the greenery right to the rail. It suits guests who want to throw the room open to the palms in the morning and keep the outdoors part of the room through the day.
