What Urban View Room 1 looks out on
Urban View Room 1 faces the neighborhood and the streets around Riviera, which is the whole point of it. A single tall arched door fills most of one wall, layered with a sheer and a heavier curtain, and opens onto a private balcony with a white balustrade, a table and chairs. Greenery and rooftops sit beyond the rail.
Inside, the wall behind the bed is dark walnut with pendant lights hanging on either side and a tan upholstered headboard between them. There is a walnut wardrobe with open shelving, an armchair, a ceiling fan and air conditioning. The bathroom is reached through an arched opening with a dark timber lattice door and holds a rounded pedestal basin and a rain shower.
The balcony is the reason to take Urban View Room 1. It sits over the neighborhood rather than a garden, so the outlook is street life and rooftops with greenery beyond, and the room fills with real daylight through the tall arched door rather than lamplight. That makes it the opposite choice to the Cocoon rooms: where they are built to be dark, this one is built to be open, and the arched door and the small balcony table are set up for morning coffee looking out.

A beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Ubud with stylish interiors and great attention to detail. I stayed in a Garden View room, which was very comfortable, spotless and peaceful. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive and helpful. I originally booked two nights but loved it so much that I extended my stay by another three. I would definitely return!
A Beautiful modern hotel in the heart of Ubud, very centrally and conveniently located and close to the best shops and restaurants. The hotel has a very beautiful colonial atmosphere, the rooms are clean, modern and stylish. The staff is kind and responsive. It's a great place for a couple or single travellers, it's not really fit for families as it has no infrastructure and special spaces for kids. It's a great place for adult travellers wanting to stay in the very heart of Ubud and enjoy the walking distance to the evening events in Ubud or just visiting the town without the need to use a car or a bike. We will be back!

How are the bed and bathroom set up in Urban View Room 1?
The private balcony is listed as a room feature alongside the king bed at 180 × 200 cm, air conditioning, an in-room safe and daily housekeeping. The room is 23 m² and sleeps two.
The bathroom has a rain shower with natural shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. The room includes complimentary Wi-Fi, a tea and coffee station, a hair dryer and a minibar charged separately. Filtered water is unlimited from the refill station for the length of the stay, and fresh drinking water is left in the room each day.
The dark walnut wall behind the bed, the pendants on either side and the tan headboard give the sleeping side of the room the same warmth as the rest of Riviera, while the arched door and its layered sheer and heavier curtains let you set the light through the day. The walnut wardrobe with open shelving and the armchair sit inside, and the ceiling fan works with the air conditioning. The bathroom, behind its lattice door, keeps the rounded basin and rain shower.
Urban View Room 1 is one of 28 rooms at Riviera, and the spa, the lounge and Kumo Fusion Omakase are all in the same building. The lounge is a cafe for coffee and pastries by day and a wine lounge in the evening, the spa books Balinese and deep-tissue massage, aromatherapy, foot care and hair treatments, and Kumo runs one evening service for thirty guests, four at the omakase counter and the rest at the steak-house tables. A balcony room like this one is easy to pair with a late dinner downstairs.
Riviera is on Jl Raya Pengosekan, in the Pengosekan part of Ubud, an area with a long line of painters and galleries along its road. Ubud's main street runs up from the door, with the town's cafes, shops and markets a short walk away and the palace and temples in the town beyond. From a street-facing balcony, that neighborhood is not a view of nowhere, it is the part of Ubud Riviera actually sits in.
Riviera runs to six room types across 28 rooms. Urban View 1 and 2 both face the street with a balcony, and the difference is that Room 1 is photographed with a single tall arched door and pendant lights beside the bed, and Room 2 with a pair of arched windows and wall sconces.

Urban View Room 1 tends to suit guests who want a balcony and daylight but like a single framed opening onto the street rather than a wall of glass.
